Ashdown Phillips appointed as Managing Agents for The O2

Ashdown Phillips will take on one of its most exciting mandates from 01 June when the team starts working with Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) to provide property management services for the world-famous entertainment and leisure venue, The O2, on London’s Greenwich Peninsula.

The O2, owned by a joint venture company between AEG and Crosstree Real Estate Partners, has appointed Ashdown Phillips as part of the strategic property management team. Ashdown Phillips’ role will be to support AEG’s extensive facilities and operational teams to provide a world class service to the largest entertainment and leisure scheme in Europe.

The O2 includes the 23,000-seat Arena at the heart of the scheme, encompassed by an Entertainment District which includes an 11 screen Cineworld, a 30,000 sq ft exhibition centre, Indigo’s 2,000 seat music venue, a 25,000 sq ft Hollywood Bowl and 27 restaurants and bars.

We are also now working with AEG on the next exciting stage of development which is firmly underway. Icon is a retail outlet scheme and will ‘complete the circle’ under the tent. Icon opens next year and will provide up to 100 units across more than 250,000 sq ft to accommodate high end retail along with some additional restaurants and cafes.

Greg McGonigal at Ashdown Phillips is particularly delighted as this appointment reunites him with a scheme that he has been involved with since before it opened in 2007.
